Baroque and Classical Music

Today in music we were given the task of finding out what the difference is between Classical and Baroque music. Because of the events during Classical music period (1730 - 1820) the music was a bit more sorrowful in comparison to the Baroque music period. Baroque music was complex and highly tonal, each piece had a clear key, there were a common pattern of chords and the music was energetic. Classical music on the hand was more formal and the composers followed the rules of harmony, the performances were also more formal in comparison to the Baroque era.
